1940s Rayon Gabardine Day Dress Nice Details

Measures 14.5” across the shoulders, 37” through the bust, 27” at the waist, 44” through hips and length is 45” with 3.5” to let out of hem if desired. Sleeves are 24.5” long from shoulder seam to cuff. Great style with open collar, hidden hooks on bodice, metal zipper down front below waist under placket, small shoulder pads, full-ish sleeves gathered into tight fit at cuff, shirring at waist and gored skirt for some ease of movement . Fabric is rayon gabardine, unlined. Label reads ”original heartbeat casual by Pat Hartly”. Good condition with some yellowing under arms; I haven’t tried to clean it but in my experience, it might get better, but it’s unlikely the whole stain will come out. (see close-up). Also has some faint spotting on side of bodice like water drops or grease splatter perhaps; it’s too faint to really show in a photo. That should come out with cleaning but of course I can’t guarantee it. True color is light grey. Has original belt.

1940s Sweater Girl!  Yellow Angora Pullover Puff Sleeves

This is a knit and does stretch, so I’ll give you the flat measurements and you can figure it will stretch at least a couple inches larger. 1940s Bemberg Rayon Floral Spring Swing Dress

This is a beauty! Scoop neckline, fitted bodice and full swirling skirt! The bodice is trimmed with rhinestones and faux pearls, but best of all a couple of the flowers are trapunto, meaning they’ve been stuffed with batting and then stitched around for a 3D effect. Measures 16” across the shoulders, 38” through the bust, 28” at the waist, full through the hips and length is 47”. Has cap sleeves and metal zipper. Fabric is semi-sheer, floaty rayon bemberg. No label, no lining. Excellent condition with no holes or stains, but original belt is missing and the hem is out. The bias tape is there so it can be easily hemmed to any length you like. True colors are medium and light dusty blue and white.

1940s Rayon Faille Wedding Gown with Train and Slip

Dress measures 15” across the shoulders, 34” through the bust, 25” at the waist, full through the hips and length is 56” to center front and 67” to center back of train. Length from top of shoulder to waist is 17”. Sleeves are 24” long from shoulder seam to cuff; they come to a point at the wrist and fasten with covered buttons and fabric loops. Slip measures 33” through the bust, 24” through the waist, full through the hips and length is. Fabric is rayon sharkskin dress, rayon taffeta slip. No label, no lining. Good condition with no holes; slip needs seam repair above zipper (see close-up) and dress has foxing; brown spots from storage. I haven’t tried to clean it but I think there’s a good chance it will clean up. As wild as it sounds, you could hand clean this because there’s no lining. Oxy Clean will almost surely lighten the spots considerably, but pressing it will be a project. True color is winter white. Very simple, elegant design with fitted bodice, and flaring skirt, fitted sleeves with buttons at wrist and lace trim around neckline. Both pieces have metal side zippers.

1940s Dancing Harem Girl Set Sequins, Bra Top Pants Girdle

This great set consists of a sequined bra top; a pair of harem style pants; a decorative girdle or hip band and a head piece. The bra band has no elastic and measures 28”around. Only way  to change the size would be to move the hooks and you could only make it smaller, not larger. Good condition with no holes; has yellowing staining under arms. Has 3 sets of metal hooks and eyes at center back. Cups are very pointy. Straps are not adjustable. Girdle measures 28” at the waist, 38” through the hips and is 9.5” long to center back; front ornamental drop is 28” long. Girdle hooks with metal hooks and eyes on side and is open-bottomed; it just serves as a modesty panel because the pants are sheer : ) Has some soiling on back side Headpiece measures 16” long by 5.5” wide at widest point. Has some soiling on back side The head piece has no way of fastening right now; the easiest thing to do would be to buy a length of elastic and cut it to fit your head and sew or even just pin it on either side of the back to the headpiece. Pants measure 28" at the waist, full through the hips, inseam is 22" long and outside seam is 38" long. Leg opening has hooks and eyes to let you get your foot through the very small opening. Pants are very full harem style and are sheer. Slightly soiled; no holes. Fabric is rayon on all pieces; chiffon and crepe mixed on girdle and bra; pants are chiffon and headpiece is crepe. True colors are off-white fabric with red, green and blue sequins. All sequins are intact and are hand-sewn; indeed the whole set is handmade I believe.
