1920s Glass Bead and Bakelite Flapper Necklace

Measures 20” long  to central drop; drop including fringe is 4.25” long. Round beads are ¼” in diameter. Glass bugle and round beads, strung on string; has metal insert clasp. No maker’s mark. Central piece is a rectangle of black Bakelite set with rhinestones; strands of beads are pulled through a hole in the Bakelite. It’s possible someone added it to the original design but it’s been that way ever since I’ve had it (for at least 15 years). Excellent condition with no damage.

1930s Red Facetted Glass Bead Necklace

Necklace measures 14.25” long and largest bead at center is ½” in diameter. Good condition with some tarnish to some of the tiny brass spacers; I’ve shown this in the close up. No maker’s mark. Fastens with a spring-ring C clasp. Beads are a beautiful cherry red color.

1950s Native American Copper Pendant

Chain measures 18” long by 3/16” wide; pendant is 3” long by 2.25” wide. Chain has hammered links and pendant has raised design. Good condition with a couple of tiny, 1/16” spots on the pendant where the finish has worn a bit. Hard to spot. No maker’s mark. Fastens with fold-over clasp.

1930s Gold-filled Beads and Amethyst Necklace

5 mm gold-filled beads alternate with genuine amethyst beads on a metal chain. Length is 14.25”. Has insert tube clasp. If you look very closely, you can see a tiny bit of wear to the plating on the metal beads, but it’s very minor. The metal chain makes this piece very sturdy. No maker’s mark.

Measures 19” long and each bead is about 3/8” in diameter. Beads are faceted; the more round ones are black glass partially sprayed with a silver coating that gives them a very unusual look, and the smaller diamond-shaped ones are iridescent crystal. 1950s Mother-of-Pearl Native American Ring

Ring is a size 7. Front presentation area is 1 1/8” long by ½” wide. Genuine marquise shaped mother-of-pearl stone. This is not marked; I believe it to be sterling but it may be a slightly lower percent silver: coin silver. Excellent condition with no damage; no maker’s mark.

1940s Large Sterling and Rhinestone Pin

Measures 4.25” long by 2.5” wide at widest point. Marked sterling; no maker’s mark. Lozenge shaped faux topaz stones are the flowers against a gold-washed sterling leaf background. Excellent condition with no damage. Has safety catch on clasp. Stones are all prong-set and the flower “stalk” is a separate piece; one rivet holds it to the leaf at the top and a sterling wire wrapped around the base holds the pieces together below. I mention this as there is some “play” in the top piece as it is not tightly soldered to the leaves but  it’s not supposed to be.

Victorian Gold Filled Garnet and Abalone Pin

Measures 2” long by 7/8” wide at widest point. Has garnets set in 800 silver with a gold wash. Also inlaid with abalone and trimmed with enamel. Has a loop on the top of the flower to which a chain could be (and once was) attached. Very good condition with no missing stones; has a really miniscule bit of blue enamel missing from one of the petals (only visible under a loupe) and one of the abalone pieces doesn’t quite fill out its setting as you can see in the close-up. 1950s Black Goldstone Bracelet in Sterling

Bracelet measures 7.25” long and each link is ¾” by 9/16”. Has a fold-over clasp. Marked “sterling”. Excellent condition with no damage. Goldstone is a type of glass made with copper or copper salts in the presence of a reducing flame. Under normal oxidative conditions, copper ions meld into the silica to produce transparent bluish-green glass; when the reduced goldstone melt cools, the copper remains in atomic isolation and precipitates into small crystalline clusters. The finished product can take a smooth polish and be carved into beads, figurines or other artifacts suitable for semiprecious stone, and in fact goldstone is often mistaken or misrepresented as a natural material.

1980s Faux Smoky and White Topaz  Gemstone Bracelet
